METAL NEWS MAY 2010
Witchery album on Century Media in June 2010
WITCHERY's line-up reads like the who's who of Swedish Metal: Jensen plays with The Haunted; solo-guitarist Rickard Rimfält rocks for Séance; bass player Sharlee D'Angelo is in charge of the deep end of Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars; while drummer Martin Axe hits the skins of Opeth and Bloodbath. The upcoming album "Witchkrieg" further offers the debut of new vocalist Legion (ex-Marduk, ex-Devian) and an army of the best Metal guitarists. The fretboard wizardry of Kerry King crowns "Witchkrieg", the opener and title-song of the brandnew album by all-star-quintet Witchery.
Guitar player Jensen had met Kerry King in 1999 on the first US-tour of his band in |Los Angeles after the Witchery show at the Whiskey A Go Go. "He came on our bus and we partied. At 6´o clock in the morning we were the only ones still awake. We played air guitar while listening to old Rainbow records", Jensen remembers. "At the Roskilde Festival in Denmark I bumped into him again. I played him the song, he listened to it three times straight and said: 'Yeah, I'll do it.'"
Hank Sherman (Mercyful Fate, Force Of Evil) was already guesting on three former discs by Witchery. "He is a good friend and will play with us on the next and the next one after that", reckons a smiling Jensen. Also on board is Andy La Rocque (King Diamond): "It's always cool to put down a solo on a good song and something that is good sounding, I think I was in the right mood at the time also, which made it sounding melodic and crying."
The new track "The Reaver" can be heard on www.myspace.com/witcherytheband and features Gary Holt and Lee Altus of Exodus. Gary Holt: "While in Europe touring for The Atrocity Exhibition our good friends in Witchery (as well as a couple of other bands you may have heard of!) kidnapped Lee and I for a little guitar solo madness, which we were more than happy to provide! We had a blast, shredded some solos, went to our gig and proceeded to get wrecked, which included a bit of artistic sharpie work on the engineer! Good times!"
Last but not least Jim Durkin of Dark Angel fame also contributed a guest solo. "Jensen and the Witchery guys have been dear friends of mine for many years...Plus I truly love the band's music! So when they asked me for a solo I jumped at the chance to blaze one out for them! I'm honoured to be included on this list of such great players that were invited to play on the album!", said Jim Durkin who's responsible for immortal Dark Angel 1986 classic "Darkness Descends" that is still hailed as one of the fastest Thrash albums.
WITCHERY's "Witchkrieg" will be released by Century Media Records June 21st, 2010.

Frontiers Records announces the release of TERRA NOVA new studio album
Napoli, May, 2010 - Dutch Melodic Rockers TERRA NOVA will release their anticipated new album "Come Alive" on July 2nd in Europe and July 27th in the USA. "Come Alive" is the band's 5th original studio album and their first full length release over the last five years.
TERRA NOVA started the work for the recording of the new album in 2008. Their vision was to go back and recreate the exciting sound of their debut album "Livin' It Up", a milestone record which captured the sheer joie de vivre of the eighties AOR and melodic rock and catapulted TERRA NOVA into the vanguard of the genre, both in Europe and Japan.
With this in mind TERRA NOVA reunited in the original line-up with Fred Hendrix on lead vocals and guitar, Ron Hendrix on keyboards, Gesuino Derosas on lead guitars, Lars Beuving on drums and the additional musician Eric Coenen (who played on the band's third and fourth record) on bass guitar.
"The new songs are very much in the line of "Livin' It Up", states Fred Hendrix, "fresh and pumping, but with a little blink to the modern sound and styles. Our aim was to please our earliest fans but also the new generation of Melodic Rock fans and we have tried to combine old and new styles and sounds. This album was a real joy to record with all the original members of our first album!"
TERRA NOVA debuted in 1996 with the amazing 'Livin' It Up', a record that marked the end of a long musical era for the two Hendrix brothers, the band's founding members. No second album syndrome caught TERRA NOVA and 'Break Away' was released in 1997 to major critical acclaim and even bigger success in Japan, leading to a major tour of the Far East in 1998. At the end of 1999, after the release of their third album, 'Make My Day', persistent problems with their Dutch record company saw the band reach the end of their patience and the end of the road.
Six years after, Frontiers Records pulled Fred Hendrix away from his solo projects and commissioned a new album. For the thousands of fans who remembered TERRA NOVA's three nineties' releases this was truly something to celebrate and the come-back album "Escape" was received warmly by the critics and fans.
"Come Alive" is now set to restore the faith in true Melodic Rock ! Don't miss one of the highlights of the season.
"Come Alive" tracklisting includes: Come Alive; Fighting Yourself; Holy Grail; Here Comes The Night; Those Eyes; Under Pressure; Do Or Die; Who Can You Count On; My Own Way; The Final Curtain.
